Johnny DeLuca 2000 by *dizzykid. This traditional drawing certainly packs a punch. Check out this new deviant's gallery for some mindblowing work. Another DA legend in the making. ( Featured by De-Profundis )

my brother told me about your artwork cause his best friend has your name on his myspace. its a shame that DA plummeted like it did, cause i oculd promise that if it had a better setup, you would get more recognition... you dont even have more then 10,000 views... and there is no excuse for people not looking at this stuff. cause it is nothing short of amazing.

thanks for checkin em out .. its hard on here to know what people are about unless you click onto thousands of avatars and thumbnails and noone, including myself, has the time to do that - I used to like the fact that everywork was represented with an icon that represented its medium - It can be hard if your looking at a small thumbnail sometimes to know if its a drawing or b&w photo - same goes with paintings and CG art - now everything is lumped together in genres like "portraits" - Its vauge and I have noticed a sharp drop in hits since that has happened - I also dont feel as if I find as many talented artists as I used to *

thats because alot of the "talented artists" you notice are all self centered idiots who all do the same thing. I can't say I am completely innocent of that, but I try to do different every once in awhile. I can name a few artists off the top of my head that does what everyone else does and gets easily 1,000,000 hits. usually the ones who focus mostly on the anime look. i guess i sort of notice it because i was doing th anime look before the damn thing even became popular... now its everywhere... and for some reason, that's what is popular. not because i was doing it back then, but because of the damn media... now people only care about a bunch of crappy fan art, and half naked females (not that im against it) and unless they see that in the thumbnail, they arent gonna look at it. So no matter how good a piece of art is, unless it's a picture of their favorite final fantasy female, or kingdom hearts gay couple, they won't give it the time of day... and bro... it's a real shame...

haha ... well I guess its all in where you are - i noticed the love for the anime around here - I personally know nothing about it - I dont appreciate another drawing of Johnny Depp either - it annoys me - but its what they like here and if thats what i have to do to fit in then ill pass *

That's a wonderful shot, let alone an amazing drawing!!! You captured that twinkle in his eye, you said he'd had; it's like he stares right through you! He looks shy, but happy to be there, excited, but almost unsure...like he's waiting for you to tell him "when", or something...a moment truely trapped in time! ^--^! A proud boxer, of his time, too. ... I love the detail put into this! It's incredibly realistic.
Did he ever get to see this/the pictures you took of him? I bet he would've loved them! (...Now, I wanna cry ^^; -lol-)

Anyway, keep up the great/beautiful work!!!- :+favlove:!

that's very good.
the thing that caught my eye tho is his last name. My best friend's dad is italian and before his family came to America, their last name was DeLuca. I wonder if the man you drew was related to them?

Beautiful i thought it was a picture. Im sure he'd be very impressed and would have let you have w/e out of the cafe like the ladies in germeny at the cafes when i was there if i drew them. He seems like a good person and a person i'd love to meet. With your description and picture i feel as if i did meet Mr. Deluca.
-love me
